WHAT ARE BIOFIBRE HAIR IMPLANTS?

This is a minor surgical process which utilizes artificial hair that is compatible with the human body, planting them one by one into a specific area affected by balding or hair loss (alopecia), and is known to be a treatment method that is safe.

This procedure allows individuals to regain their confidence as the artificial hair looks and feels completely natural, and blends in well to give them a thick head of hair that is aesthetically pleasing.*

HOW IT WORKS

In most cases, a light dermatologic surgery resolves most cases of balding satisfactorily. It is a suitable treatment for both men and women at any stage of the alopecia, and maintenance can be performed with small quantities of repeat implants at regular intervals to ensure the level of hair thickness remains constant.*

The hair is made from a biocompatible medical fibre that provokes very minimal foreign-body reactions; these reactions can be identified and countered prior to regular sessions. If required, biofibre hairs can also be extracted in one piece in order for scalp treatments or any other hair restoration techniques to be performed. Safety is not an issue as each hair has a reversible knot which allows for scar-free removal if needed.

Causing minimal discomfort, the hairs are very resistant to physical, mechanical and chemical stress, while most patients report a high degree of satisfaction with the treatment and results.* There may be minor inflammations but this is easily resolved, and your doctor will advise you of any potential minor, negligible reactions associated with the treatment.

Most of us take a thick head of hair for granted, that is, until it is gone. For many encountering this problem, the best solution would be hair transplant procedures which can help bring back the appearance of a fuller head of hair.

During a hair transplant, hairs are moved from an area of thick growth to bald areas. First, you will be administered with a local anesthetic to numb the scalp and if necessary, medication for relaxation. Your scalp will be thoroughly cleansed.

Then using Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, healthy hair follicles will be directly removed from the scalp and grafted one-by-one into the bald areas of the head. This method ensures excellent hair volume and quality as hair with intact roots is transplanted.

The FUE method does not result in linear scarring like strip transplants where a whole chunk of skin is removed and grafted elsewhere. With FUE, individual hairs are taken from the sides and back of the head to be implanted individually into balding areas. This results in natural permanent hair transplant that is unaffected by hair loss/ male hormones and the procedure is totally simple and painless.
